What if you found out that you were adopted and everything you thought you knew about your family, your security, was shattered? My Secret is about my 40 year quest for truth about who I am. But, more than that, this story is about overcoming seemingly insurmountable obstacles to achieve a goal.
My undaunted determination led me from private detectives, online sources and social agencies to covert missions like trying to collect an aunt's DNA sample at a family gathering. There were rumors, innuendos, false leads and small steps forward and backward, all leading me to finally find my 82 year-old mother.
I believe the reader will be drawn in by the intimacy of the journey

This is a beautifully written book about a young woman's desire to find her birth mother. One of the best adoption stories I have read. Having known my own mother experienced the same longing to learn any information about her birth mother, I so appreciated Ms. Sayre's voice coming through. I could feel her pain in not knowing the truth of her birth mother and the struggle to gain information. It was so admirable how she shared about the turbulent relationship with her adoptive mother and Ms. Sayre's willingness to provide support over lifetime even though she herself didn't receive that kind of support from an early age. This would cause many to be bitter and not want to maintain a relationship. Her strong Christian faith shined through. I can't give the ending away, it is a must read!Product details

Interesting but not page turning.
Excellent reading and very moving. Very strong suggestive reading.
I love this heartwarming story of reunion! I have two daughters that I adopted. I hope that someday they will reunite with their birth mothers and it will go as well.
I highly recommended this book . I read it in one sitting . I’m also adopted and reunited with my Birth family . She shares her journey with great honesty and emotion. It’s an experience that is difficult to put into words. Yet she did.
Loved this book. It was hard to hear about the challenging relationship that a fellow adoptee had with her mother. But how amazing to be welcomed home by her biological mother and sister!
This was a good one. Well written. Her relationship with her adopted mother was sad, but the book overall was good. I’d recommend it.
Loved, loved loved this story of a determined little girl all grown up now, who follows her heart and finds her real Mom, and her sister. This is a great read for all adopted children to never give up hope to find your real parents.
